Two Female asthmatic patients have been hospitalised at the Nimi Briggs Hospital early hours of today.
The incident which occurred at the NDDC hostel (Rivers State University of Science and Technology) started when an ashmatic female student (name and department withheld) was left at the mercy of the student rescue team.
The victim’s friend (name and department withheld) who is also an asthmatic patient while rushing to rescue her friend alongside the rescue team fell under attack.
The rescue team which include the Welfare Secretary of the Student Union Government, Ndi Favour, the NUESSA Vice president, Adeshina Olawale and occupants of the NDDC hostel.
SUG Welfare and NUESA vice president among others were at the hospital with the victims.
The male nurse demanded that school ID must be presented before the commencement of treatment (protocol for student treatment) but SUG Welfare and NUESA Vice gave the nurse reasons why their lives should be saved first before following protcools of the hospital.
According to the Welfare secretary both girls are now doing pretty well.
