Following the ongoing joint military and police operation that commenced on Saturday, 10 persons, including a nine-year-old girl, were rescued from kidnappers’ den in Abuja, yesterday.

According to the FCT Police Commissioner, Mustapha Mohammed, the kidnapped victims were rescued in the Robochi Forest located between Abuja and Nasarawa State.
Eight of the victims were rescued on Sunday, while two others were rescued yesterday in an early morning operation.
Speaking in the same vein, FCT Minister, Musa Muhammed, noted that the joint operation involved 250 personnel of the Police, Army, DSS, NSCDC, while air patrols were deployed to comb the forest.
He noted that two of the camps where the gangs were operating from had been destroyed. One of the NSCDC operative was said to have collapsed and died during the operation, while one of the criminals was killed and another arrested.
Commending the security agencies for the synergy and the successful rescue, the minister said the operation would continue until all black spots and camps of kidnappers and robbers were cleared in Abuja.
Those rescued are Fanus Emmanuel, Babangida Emmanuel, Akimmidauda, Japhet Kwasu, Dorcas Shuaibu, Hamza Yunusa, Kemu Cheik, Umar Godiri, Ismaila Yusuf and Abubakar Gomo.
