Bayelsa Govt To Striking Teachers: Return To Classes Or Be Replaced

BAYELSA State Commissioner of Education, Mr Markson Fefegha, has warned striking teachers in the state to return to the classrooms today or risk being declared ‘ghost workers’ and replaced immediately.

A statement by Fefegha, weekend, said that the move was in line with the directive of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, NUT, to all teaching and non-teaching staff to resume work from today.

He said: “A team of inspectors from the state Ministry of Education is to visit all primary and post-primary schools across the state to ensure that, all categories of academic and non-academic staff return to work.”

“The exercise, which is expected to commence from tomorrow is to ensure that, all categories of academic and non-academic staff in primary and post primary schools returns to work.”

He advised all Headmasters and Principals to ensure strict compliance with the team of inspectors.
