The Civic Hatchback will be the platform on which the forthcoming Civic Type-R will be based.
Honda
Do you want a Honda Civic, but you need a bigger trunk? Then the Civic Hatch is just right for you . It's the most capacious Civic on offer, and the automaker has finally given an idea of how much all that junk in the trunk will cost.
The Civic that makes the rockin' world go 'round starts at $19,700 (around N8.5m ). That'll net you a Civic Hatchback LX with a 1.5-liter turbo I4 putting out 174 horsepower, mated to a six-speed manual. . The only other stick-shift Civic Hatch available is the Sport, which starts at $21,300 (N9.2m) and bumps power output to 180 hp.
If you want to get fancy, move on up to the $25,300 (N11m) EX-L Navi, which adds leather (hence the L) and navigation (hence the...never mind). If you can't make up your mind between the higher-output Sport and a fancier trim, that's where the range-topping Sport Touring trim comes in. Pricing has yet to be announced on that one, but it, too, should come in well under $30,000.(N13m)
Honda Sensing, the automaker's suite of safety tech, is available on every trim except for the Sport, and it's standard on Sport Touring. That adds forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, auto high beams and lane departure warning.
The Civic Hatch hits dealerships on Monday, September 26.
