Niger State Government has released the sum of N1.4 billion as a bailout to augment local government council coffers pay shortfall of July and August salaries.
The Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr Jonathan Vatsa, who disclosed this in Minna, said Governor Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello had already given the directive for the release of the funds to the affected local government councils whose allocations could not cater for their staff salaries.
“Immediately after the directive on Monday all relevant Ministries released the money to the councils for them to pay July and August salaries so that their staff can celebrate Sallah (Eid-el-Kabir) conveniently,” Vatsa declared
